The Carolina Aquatic Plant Enthusiasts comprises of hobbyists (mostly in North Carolina's Research Triangle Park region) interested in the keeping of aquatic plants. We formed this group in the spring of 2002.

Our group is a casual one; there are no annual dues/ fees, no pre-set dates for meetings, no single meeting location, no officers, no formal meeting agendas, no forums, and no scheduled annual field/ collecting trips. Our mailing list typically is only for information about the next meeting or for some specific plant keeping topic. All this means we have less headaches and less politics.

We do meet approximately every 2-3 months at a voluntary members' home on a rotating basis to discuss, observe, trade, and learn about keeping plants. Because the meetings are held at various members' homes, we ask that people interested in becoming members of our group to contact and get to know an existing member prior to attending the meetings. You can find some of us attending the Raleigh Aquarium Society's monthly meetings.
